Lawn care · Watering
Thick, green grass, season after season.
A good lawn comes from small things done on time. That is what our weekly service is built around.
Through the year
What a season with us looks like:
- 01
Spring cleanup
We rake out winter debris, clear the beds and give the grass a clean start.
- 02
Fall cleanup
Leaves, fallen branches and spent plantings are hauled away, so the lawn heads into winter healthy.
- 03
Weekly mowing
Sharp blades, the right height for your grass and clean edges along every path and bed.
A mowing tip
Never cut more than a third.
Taking off too much grass at once stresses the lawn and lets weeds in. In the fast growing weeks after rain, mow more often rather than lower. Keep the blades sharp and mow when the grass is dry so the cut stays clean.
Watering basics
How to water well.
A few habits make more difference than any sprinkler.
- Keep the soil evenly moist, never soaked
- Water deeply, a few times a week
- Water at dawn so less is lost to the sun
- Check that the water reaches the roots
- Cover the whole area evenly so roots spread in every direction
- Water slowly on slopes so it sinks in instead of running off
- Use drip lines in planting beds to save water
- Mix compost into sandy soil so it holds moisture longer
