Services
Tree work for homes and businesses.
We work all over Willowmere and the towns along the river, for houses, shops, farms and everything in between.
Tree removal
When a tree has to come down.
Taking a tree down is a big decision, and sometimes a storm makes it for you. Either way, we walk the yard with you first and explain what we see.
If a tree can be saved with good pruning or a support cable, we will say so. Removal is the last option, not the first.
Quotes are free and in writing, with cleanup and hauling already in the price.
Signs to watch for
When removal makes sense.
- More than half the crown is dead or bare
- Deep cracks or hollow spots run through the trunk
- Bark is falling away in large sheets
- Roots are lifting the driveway or crowding the foundation and pipes
- Bore holes, sawdust or pest nests show up in the trunk and branches
- The lean is getting worse, or it points at the house or the wires
- The tree stands right where a new deck, garage or addition will go
- The yard is so crowded that none of the trees are thriving
Trimming & pruning
The four cuts we make most.
Most pruning is best done in late winter, while the tree is dormant, so the cuts close quickly and the tree pushes strong growth in spring.
Crown raising
Removing the lowest limbs to clear a driveway, a sidewalk, a roofline or a view, and to balance the tree.
Crown reduction
Shortening long, heavy limbs on mature trees to take weight off while keeping a natural shape.
Crown thinning
Taking out select inner branches so light and wind pass through, without changing the outline of the tree.
Crown cleaning
Clearing out dead, broken and rubbing branches. It pairs well with any of the other three.
Stump grinding
Stumps gone, ground ready.
Every removal leaves a stump behind, so most customers add grinding to the same visit. We also come out just for stumps, whether you have one or a whole row of them.
We grind well below the surface and work the chips back in, so the spot is ready for new grass, a garden bed or anything with shallow roots.
Lot clearing
What a clearing can cover.
No two pieces of land are alike. We walk it with you and agree on the scope before any work starts.
- Taking down trees
- Removing brush and shrubs
- Cutting back weeds and overgrowth
- Hauling off rocks, old fencing and debris
- Grinding stumps
- Pulling roots that would get in the way of a foundation or buried lines
